Hello. I’m trying to send some midi messages to ZynAddSubFx synth and to Iannix (0.9 build from sources) with no results. Messages has been sent and I saw it in logs, but with no feedback. I used Jackd to midi connection. My OS – Debian stable.
just noticed this today. after entering a Circle w/cursor, you can’t edit the Circles’ size.
everything else is editable in the Inspector panel such as, 3d xy position, thickness.
except the size. there’s no option. it’s disappeared….oh no!
Thanks. Fixed in 0.9.12.
Thanks. Fixed in 0.9.13.
saving is broken again in recent version. doing stranger things.. saving certain operations and emitting others.
nearly impossible to save a completed score currently
Working with learning the 3d aspects of IanniX, using background images to represent the scores shape and eventual sequence.
This work in progress has MakeNoise Musics’ Rene, Pressure Points & MMG as bgimg’s., and the IanniX score is sending midi to Ableton Live 9 w/ Aalto, Granulator, Battery
I thought it’d be fun to score onto such amazing actual analog gear. and see what happened.
Right: Background Images belong to Make Noise Music Co.

just bangin away. getting used to iannix interface.
although, « Saving » is still buggy, i did the score and recorded it straightaway..
Working with amazing designs is always a treat.
Here, the IanniX score is based on SkullFlower, a piece by talented designer/musician/screenprinter Ogo Eion, these are his web locales:

iokaos.net [radical freelance design for print and web]
the IanniX score is triggering a few nefarious instruments in Ableton Live 9. Enjoy.
I hope to do a series based on his work.
Hello!
I’ve tried to connect IanniX to a midi synth (qsynth and ZynAddSubFx), and I can’t hear any sound output.
It seems like synth doesn’t get midi messages from IanniX, even though qjackctl shows them connected.
Also, I’m using 64 bit linux (OpenSuse), and lastest version of IanniX.
Please help me.
Also, I’m using « Rosette » example score that seems to be midi compatible.
To be honest, we’ve never tested MIDI output on Linux… Only OSC and UDP…
Other users may help?
Hi,
I’m new to Iannix, I’m working on a piece and have a problem.
The piece is basically a score with many curves and a global linear timeline to scan all curves at once.
I’m sending the Y-Value of a curve to a PD-Patch where each curve controls a OSC with the Y-Value representing the frequency in Hz.
This is working quite well, what i need to do is – when a curve is finished – scanned to an end, it should send out a 0, so that the OSC stops generating sound… How can i managed that?
Thanks and best regard
Damian
Hi!
First, thanks for using IanniX :). Then, it’s a common problem that we never solved because it’s not so easy to create the right solution.
Maybe the best thing would be to put a trigger just at the end of the curve, this trigger can send « fake » cursor values (=> double-clic on the trigger to change its message, then select « Default OSC Message for cursors » and edit values). Is it an acceptable solution?
thank you for your answer!
I thougt about triggers, but it will be around 300+ curves, adding the same amount of triggers makes it quite a huge project 😉
But if there isn’t a « automated » solution, I think I will have to do so…
And what about making that in PD => for each abstraction of each curve, if no frequency update during 40ms (eg.), stop the oscillator (as we did in our Max patch)?
Hi,
I will try this… Which example are you talking about, the Max Sound Example? How do you exactly managed that gate?
Thanks.
