    Is it possible to scale values in the message editor.

    Something like « cursor_time_percent – Current progression of the cursor on the curve (in percentages, from 0.0 to 1.0) »
    but with cursor_Pos?

    Hi! You should just open Iannix and then open Logic. They are automatically rewired. Make sure to load a MIDI example in Iannix and it should work.

    Yes, you can use Javascript in message like that:

    osc://ip_out:57120/cursor cursor_id {cursor_time_percent * cursor_xPos}

    or

    osc://ip_out:57120/cursor cursor_id {cursor_time_percent + cos(cursor_xPos)}

    and so on…

    Hi!

    brand new to IanniX. Got it working with supercollider which has been amazing. Thanks for the awesome software. Simple, stupid question. It says there is Kinect support. Can anyone point me to how to get started? I dont see kinect support anywhere on the GUI. Thanks

    If you’d like to learn computer music, I would start with pure data. There are a series of 30-some youtube tutorials that walk you through pretty much the entire language, by a university professor. Pure data is free, open source, graphical programming language. Its very easy to pick up w/ tutorials.

    Supercollider has a pretty massive learning curve but if you know any written languages it may be easier for you than it was for me. It’s much more powerful than pd, and if you put the time in you can make some aweomse sounding material.

    MAX is just pure data for $600.

    If you want to simply start playing music you can send midi to Ableton, Garage band? or AU Lab ?(free w mac).

    I think you are the guy who comment our video with Kinect, so I’ve just answered you on Vimeo :

    Thanks ! The source code is still inside IanniX source code. To into the Git (github.com/buzzinglight/IanniX/IanniX), download source code and allow Kinect support in .PRO file. You’ll need Freenect library also. To find how we made the mapping, search in code « KINECT_INSTALLED » 🙂

    So, for Kinect support, you need to compile IanniX yourself ; and there is no GUI…

    Two more quick questions.

    1)When I try to build from source I get errors Syphon/Syphon.h: No such file or directory…and a bunch of other errors pertaining to syphon.

    2) New to QT. To edit IanniX.pro to allow for Kinect, do I change config to ‘+’. Do I have to change the false in…

    I have all of the dependencies installed.

    Lastly, as a heads up, I had issues with the paypal for membership but not for donations. I’d like to be a member.

    I’ll learn more about QT in the mean time. Just on a deadline for this project. Thanks again for the help!

    Hi! Quickly before going to university…

    1) Sorry it is not documented ; you need (for Mac) the framework Syphon (free download : http://syphon-framework.googlecode.com/files/Syphon%20SDK%20Public%20Beta%202.zip)

    2) You just need to change « #KINECT false { » to « #KINECT true { » directly in .PRO file

    Hmm strange… Maybe you can remove icon.icns (just the icon of IanniX) from the project and try again.

    bonsoir, j’a installé iannix dans le but de l’utiliser comme sequenceur avec un synthé modulaire; j’a utilisé le script « simple midi example » mais je n’arrive pas a envoyer de signal midi out vers mon interface usb midi tout en sélectionnant celle-ci sous « network ». merci pour votre aide, très cordialement, bob
