We’re looking for a QuartzComposer example or someone who can tell us how to manage polyphony (multiple instances of an object) in QC.

    Thanks Guillaume!

I still have not figured out how to reliably reproduce this crash, unfortunately, but I’ll keep a eye out and if there is a next time, I should have a real crash dump for you.

Progressively indeed — this is a very low priority to me, and probably to others as well.

Absolutely. And this is another low-priority item to me, but I thought I’d document my ideas in the feedback just to get them in the queue for later on.

Your editing ideas sound excellent. I know how much work is involved.

    Thanks!

Yep, scripts have more features because it is faster for me to develop this part. But we know that we have to add this feature in GUI!

Cool. I know that beta testers will have thoughts about items you already have in your own pipeline, so forgive us for sometimes stating the obvious.

Ah. I didn’t bother to think about the possibility that a given edit might change some proportional relationship based on timing, etc. However, there are still a lot of edits that don’t affect those relationships, correct?

Hmm, on second thought, I can see that there’s more than meets the eye. I was going to give an example of, say, just nudging a trigger a few pixels one way or the other, or nudging a curve. But they all have absolute X-Y vectors which can be used as the time reference (percentage is not the only choice, is it). Yes, I can see your point :–)

…and I know this one is a big deal, engineering-wise. I don’t expect all of these improvements in a fortnight! :–)

I am not a math-guy, but I sure enjoyed viewing the animations on this page: Bézier curves. The External Links section seems to point to possible sources of algorithms, some of which might be in code-form. I don’t know if code is what you’re asking for, Guillaume, but that jsDraw2d library might be useful for design ideas, even though it’s not C/C++.

I suppose a C/C++ library that wraps OpenGL would be what you’re looking for, optimally. Given that drawing smooth curves is such a core problem, there must be a GPL’ed library out there already.

I enjoyed your video. What screencast software do you use on your Mac? I saw PSP Vintage Warmer sneak in there — I’m also a VW user.

    Thanks.

    I use screenflow for screencast.

Did anybody get iannix running with Live without M4L?
I tried the midi triggers but didn’t get a signal…?
Not sure how I would use OSC without M4L?

    Thanks for any hints!

    Cheers,

The keepers of OSC, OpensoundControl.org, only list this project as an OSC interface to Live (that project appears to be dormant). This gives me the impression the native Live does not implement OSC support. Perhaps M4L is the only alternative at this point. I just visited Ableton’s Live-8 pages, and could find no mention of OSC.

    Cheers,
–Bob (caveat: I’m not a Live user — perhaps @hendersounds or @mbd73 will confirm)

Before I got M4L I used the LiveAPI project but I don’t know how compatible it is with the more recent updates. The only other tool I have used is OSCulator http://www.osculator.net/ . Not freeware but can be used without registration with the caveat that every 10 minutes or so it drops the connection and you have to kick it off again. That wasn’t enough of a deterrent for me to use it for a good while as a stop gap for M4L.

And as you can see in our last video (http://vimeo.com/25045003), the next release of IanniX will bring native MIDI support 🙂
