Guillaume,
I am running the Linux version of IanniX satisfactorily, but I imagine I need some kind of ~/.iannixrc settings file.
I run the IanniX.sh for startup, but in order to satisfy the paths I have a created a mess of symlinks in my ~/. Could you reply with an example .rc-file or advise about a better way to configure?
Cheers,
–Bob
Well, I really have no experience with Linux. Hope someone can give us some information about how to package apps, how to put an icon, how to deploy Linux app…
Right. Where is Fernando Lopez-Lezcano when you need him! :–)
Cheers,

Hi AvantGuy,
how did you have the linux version running?
Under Ubuntu (9.10) when launching the sh script I’ve Segmentation Fault… any help will be really appeciated 😀
Vallste, I’m running with kernel 2.6.35.13-91 via Fedora-14. As for my Iannix installation, I simply let it reside right in my download directory where I de-archived it from Iannix’s distro. In my home directory I made symlinks to these Iannix subdirectories: Documentation, Examples, imageformats, Patches, Project, and Tools. On my desktop, I created a symlink to the executable, and just launch it from that. I believe my first successful launch required running the script, iannix.sh, but my memory of that initial skirmish is fading a bit.
Hth,

i have the same problem as vallste here, #! (CrunchBang) Linux 32bit, IanniX.sh is giving me a Segmentation Fault and it is not clear to me (after looking at the documentation and the source of IanniX.sh) what i need to do… seems it is looking for a filepath, but to what? i’ve given it the path to the IanniX executable, but still no luck…
Are you running from a local build, or are you using the Iannix binary? I never had a segfault, but I have not yet bothered to do a build. It might be instructive to try the Iannix binary. My impression is that certain versions of Qt’s Linux libs should be avoided, and they might be the cause of segfaults if you built against the wrong ones. In one of the earlier threads, Guillaume gave instructions and links to Qt libs that work for him.
Cheers,
–Bob
